The history programme endeavours to provide the students with a platform to examine and understand the facet of human interaction within the realms of social cultural life, the patterns of economy and political thoughts. The students will be provided with the techniques to raise questions and explore for answers from different perspectives while studying individuals, communities, countries and the world. The diversity and individualistic essence of studying history gives the students enough room to explore the most ancient part of the world and analyse the most contemporary aspect of the world, this makes history students realize that the past as well as the present can be historically studied.

The history programme introduces students to historical issues that are pertinent to contemporary life and also helps students to nurture the skills of historical analysis, critical examination and research while studying historical events presented in different ways by historians.

The History programme is designed to help students acquire the aptitude to read and interpret the key fundamentals and ideas of history. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of history, the students will find the application of historical methodology very efficient while researching on topics of their interest, prepare for postgraduate studies and take up employment in various government and private sectors. The holistic approach of history enables students to apply the humanistic approach of history in shaping their livelihood as better citizens and human beings.
