RTC Happenings
Royal Thimphu College welcomed 22 new faculty last week, who participated in a week long orientation, covering topics such as the history of Bhutan and RTC, living in Bhutan, academic policies and learner-centred teaching. The new faculty, hailing from Bhutan, India, the U.S., Canada and Australia, bring the total number of faculty to 66, of which 12 are part time.
As RTC enters its fifth year, and also starts its part-time CE program, we are proud to welcome our new faculty to the RTC family.
On July 24, the RTC men’s football team won the 2nd RUB Intercollegiate Football Tournament against Gaeddu College of Business Studies. The final match, which was played at Paro College of Education’s football field, was attended by the Vice-Chancellor, college directors, and many RTC college supporters.
The game got off to a great start with Vinod Tamang (the team’s captain) scoring the opening goal a few minutes into the match. This was followed by a second goal in the second half by Kuenga Gyeltshen, and a third, minutes from the end, by a free kick from Abinash Samal. Goalie, Tshering Dhendup, held off the opposing team to conclude the match with a 3 – 0 victory.
RTC is very proud of its football team and sends its congratulations to all of the team members!
