Yeshi Peldon - Assistant ICT Officer under DITT, MoIC in Dagana Dzongkhag Administration

Yeshi Peldon (BCA, 2013) - I am currently working as an Assistant ICT Officer under DITT, MoIC in Dagana Dzongkhag Administration.

It was my luck to be part of the dynamic family of RTC - full of resources and opportunities around. The learning environment was a challenging one for me to cope up with during the starting days, as the standards were beyond my capacity. After few months with continuous support and coaching from the college side, it made me competent enough that today, when I look back, I see those challenges as an energy boosting factor leading me towards a successful life.

RTC has provided me a lot beyond my subject area. It has given me skills with an opportunity to work as a student part-time IT lab assistant, Teacher Assistant, Peer counsellor, Student Government member etc... RTC has given me exposure through many college events like the SEISA program in Japan, and an internship opportunity.

Right after graduation, I did an internship with the College which was later followed by appointment to a regular IT officer position. When, I was later selected in the RCSC Exam as the national topper in IT, I joined the civil service as of 2014. Since then, I have been working towards the national goal of an "ICT-enabled knowledge society as a foundation for Gross National Happiness" with contribution in networking and system development work. The skills and knowledge that I gained during my college days and degree studies in the BCA programme at RTC have been of great value in my field.

I would like to urge all the students currently studying in RTC to make best use of the numerous golden opportunities there, and for those who are looking forward to studies at RTC- I assure you that you won't regret being a part of RTC family in your lifetime.

My life at RTC was one of the best parts of my life so far. Thank you Royal Thimphu College!
