The CITL Training and Workshops are designed for the continuous enhancement of teaching-learning at RTC. For this semester, CITL will offer two categories of programmes: (1) open training and workshop programmes based on recent need assessments that are applicable for both experienced and new tutors, and (2) training programmes specifically designed for new tutors.The training programmes designed for new tutors aim to improve the teaching capability of those with little prior teaching experience in higher education, and are mandatory for these tutors, as indicated in the table below. Other tutors could also be nominated to attend the workshops by their respective Programme Leaders. All other interested tutors can also voluntarily sign up for these CITL training and workshop programmes.
Almost all CITL training will be conducted during working Saturdays, and the training duration will range from 3-6 contact hours per topic with at least 1-2 hours of follow-up meetings 1 or 2 months after the training. Training will be designed to be hands-on, and a feedback and reflection exercise will be carried out as a part of the post-training follow-up. Depending on the duration, each training is worth 3-6 training credit points. A full-day workshop is worth 6 credit points while a half-day (3 hr) workshop is 3 credit points.
